This section explains how to use the OEFI Tuning Solutions app to flash (update) your snowmobile’s ECU with a new tune. Ensure you’ve completed Parts 1 and 2 before proceeding. Preparation 1. Check for Software Requirements: Open the OEFI Tuning Solutions app on your laptop. If you see a JavaScript Error, download and install the Visual Studio C++ 2015 Redistributable from this link: Visual Studio C++ 2015. Follow the installation prompts, then reopen the app. 2. Connect the Hardware: Connect the OEFI Tuning Solutions Flash Box to your laptop using the provided USB cable. Plug the 12V DC power supply into a wall outlet and connect it to the OEFI Box. Attach the OEFI Flash box cable to the snowmobile’s diagnostic plug (usually located near the fuse block; consult your snowmobile’s manual if unsure). If you are direct pinning to the ECU, remove the ECU and connect color coded leads per supplied diagram. 3. Special Instructions for Ski-Doo 2023 and Newer Models: If your snowmobile has a large interactive gauge, locate the fuse block near the diagnostic plug and remove the Cluster fuse before flashing. This prevents interference during the process. 4. Prepare the Snowmobile: Ensure the ignition, key, or tether is in the Off position. If your snowmobile has an aftermarket momentary kill switch, hold it in the Kill position during the entire flashing process. For convenience, secure it with a zip tie. Flashing Process 1. Log In to the App: Open the OEFI Tuning Solutions app and log in using your email and password. 2. Accept Terms: Read the terms and conditions displayed in the app. Click Accept to proceed. 3. Connect to the OEFI Box: The app should automatically detect the OEFI Tuning Solutions Flash Box. If it doesn’t, ensure all cables are securely connected and try again. 4. Select Your License and Tune: Choose the ECU Development license you want to flash from the list in the app. Click Connect. When flashing a “Development” tune (a custom tune file provided separately), click Browse and select the tune file from your computer. 5. Flash the ECU: Click FLASH ECU to start the process. A progress bar will display, moving from 0% to 100%. Do not disconnect any cables or turn on the snowmobile during this step, as it could damage the ECU. When the app displays “FLASH SUCCESSFUL,” the process is complete. 6. Disconnect and Test: Disconnect the OEFI Box, USB cable, and power supply. Reinsert the Cluster fuse (if removed) and release the kill switch (if applicable). Start your snowmobile to confirm it runs properly.
